THE CHALLENGE
- The existing site looked clean but failed to reflect the warmth and energy of the school — “it doesn’t truly reflect who we are” was the starting point for the brief
- Mobile experience was inconsistent, with design choices that worked on desktop failing on smaller screens
- The Sixth Form section underrepresented Channing’s exceptional Careers and UCAS provision — a significant gap in a competitive market
- The admissions journey was not sufficiently intuitive — the primary goal was to drive open day registrations and online applications
- RSAcademics integration was required — allowing applications submitted online to feed directly into the school’s admissions platform
- A 360° virtual tour needed to be embedded, giving prospective families a self-guided exploration before visiting
OUR APPROACH
Innermedia’s production, design, and SEO teams worked with Channing’s marketing leads through a comprehensive questionnaire and kick-off before any design began, incorporating brand guidelines, photography, competitor references (Chigwell, Westminster, UCS, Innocent Drinks), and explicit design preferences.
The resulting design is modern, sleek, and confident, applying the school’s brand colours with conviction. The Sixth Form section was significantly expanded with dedicated Careers and UCAS pages. The admissions journey was rebuilt around conversion, with RSAcademics integration enabling seamless application submission. Delivered on time for a July 2023 launch.
