THE CHALLENGE

Akeley Wood School, a co-ed independent school within the Cognita Group, came to us under new marketing leadership needing to clearly communicate the value of their independent education in a competitive market. Over time their branding had become watered down and wasn’t hitting the mark. They needed a refreshed identity and sharper messaging to help them stand out, build trust with prospective families, and target their communications more effectively across multiple channels.

OUR APPROACH

Rather than a full rebrand, we evolved what already existed, modernising their colour story, introducing bold typography and hierarchy rules, and redefining their messaging to better reflect who Akeley truly are. The work expanded into digital and social media advertising, direct mail, open event materials, and large-scale external advertising including train station digital ads and bus backs. The result was a cohesive, elevated brand that added genuine prestige without losing familiarity.
